In its 27th year of spreading cheer while collecting food and raising money for food insecurity, the CPKC Holiday Train is scheduled to run November 19th to December 21st this year.
The Holiday Train is making a stop in Red Wing this year for the first time since 2004 on Friday around 7:15pm at Bay Point Park.
Andy Cummings, Manager, Media Relations at CPKC Railway, says the train itself looks like Christmas and the professional musicians on board play free concerts.
Cummings says all the donations of money and food stays local to support food banks across their network.
Prior to arriving in Red Wing, the Holiday Train will be making stops along the way
In Winona, it will make a stop at 3:45 pm at the Amtrak Station, 65 East Mark Street.
The next stop in is in Wabasha at 5:45 pm at the Gambia Avenue railway crossing by Bruegger Park.
After leaving Red Wing, the Holiday Train stops in Hastings at  9:15 pm at the CPKC Depot, 500 East Second Street.
