Motorists in Red Wing will encounter a detour at the Highway 63/3rd Street bridge over Bluff Street Tuesday, July 16th and Wednesday, July 17th for bridge crack and joint sealing , according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Traffic is scheduled to be detoured south to the traffic signal at Highway 61/ 63 those two days during daylight hours.

Other bridge crack and joint sealing work is scheduled to take place in Red Wing next week. The Highway 63 bridge over the Mississippi River will have a lane closure with flaggers and traffic delays are expected. The pedestrian bridge over Highway 61 near Anderson Park will be closed Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19th. The schedules are subject to change depending on the weather.

This work is part of the bridge crack and joint sealing project that is occurring in Goodhue, Wabasha and Winona counties this summer.

Crews will be working Monday through Saturday during daylight hours.

It is anticipated that work should be completed in September. Lane closures with flagging operations or a pilot car for traffic control will occur in most work zones.
