Section 4AA Championship at Triton High School:

Goodhue 40 Randolph 0-The Wildcats rolled to the Section 4AA title with another great all around effort. Goodhue heads to state for the 12th time in school history.

Luke Roschen's 59 yard scramble on the game's opening minute set up Jack Carlson's two yard touchdown run just 1:32 into the contest. The Rockets marched to the Goodhue two yard line in a drive that consumed the rest of the first quarter but committed a key penalty on fourth down that cost them five yards. A fourth down pass on the first play of the second quarter was incomplete.

Goodhue fumbled on their ensuing possession and the Rockets recovered on the Goodhue 24 yard line but Michael Roschen intercepted a Colton Ford pass two plays later. The Wildcats marched down the field and Jack Carlson's four yard touchdown made it 12-0. The two point conversion failed. Luke Roschen added a 41 yard interception return for a score with 1:41 to play in the half and Goodhue led 19-0 at the half.

Jack Carlson added a two yard touchdown run and then scored his fourth touchdown of the game on a 22 yard shovel pass from Luke Roschen up 33-0 late in the third quarter. Hayden Holm added a 48 yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.

The Wildcats defense pitched their second straight shut out in the tournament and fifth overall this season. Michael Roschen, Luke Roschen, Alex Loos and Jack Carlson all came up with interceptions.

Goodhue is 10-0 on the season and will learn who their Class AA State quarterfinal opponent is when the state pairings are announced at 10am today.
