Heise WCHA POY!
Minnesota Golden Gophers Senior Taylor Heise is the WCHA Women's Hockey Player of the Year.
The Lake City native and Red Wing Wingers High School hockey star has led the Gophers to a 28-7-1 record and #1 ranking.
The Gophers face UMD at 1pm Saturday while Wisconsin faces Ohio State later in the day in the WCHA Final Face-Off. The championship game in Sunday with all games at Ridder Arena on the University of Minnesota campus.
Heise leads the nation in scoring with 28g-34A-64pts. Heise is also one of 10 finalists for the Patty Kazmeier Award-given to the top player in women's college hockey.
