Section 1A Championship at Rochester Mayo Civic Center Arena:
Hayfield 53 Goodhue 42-The #1 ranked Vikings (29-2) led from wire to wire as the Wildcats offense could never fire on all cylinders. Goodhue ends a great season at 23-7.
Goodhue trailed 26-22 at the half and certainly was in the game. Hayfield went on a quick burst to take an 11 point lead and Goodhue could never get closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Ethan Pack had 17 points to lead Hayfield with Isaac Matti adding 13 and Zander Jacobson 12.
Dayne Wojcik led Goodhue with 17 points and Will Opsahl added 15.
Section 1AA Championship at The Rochester Mayo Civic Center Arena:
Caledonia 72 PEM 61 (3OT)-The #1 ranked Warriors rallied from a double digit first half deficit and went on the capture a triple overtime thriller over the Bulldogs.
The game was tied at 55 after regulation, 57-57 after the first overtime and 61-61 after the second overtime. Caledonia ran away in the third overtime, outscoring PEM 11-0.
Eli King led Caledonia with 30 points and 13 rebounds. King will play college basketball at Iowa State next season. Aeron Stevens led PEM with 27 points and 12 rebounds.
Caledonia heads to the state tournament next week with a 27-1 record. PEM ends the year at 28-2 with both losses coming to Caledonia.
