Section 1A Semi-Finals: Goodhue 54 Lyle-Pacelli 51-The Wildcats rallied from a 46-36 deficit midway through the second half and closed the game on an 18-5 run to beat the Athletics in dramatic fashion at the Rochester Mayo Civic Auditorium.
Will Opsahl led Goodhue with 22 points, Luke Roschen added 11 and Adam Poncelet 10 for the Wildcats, who are now 26-3.
Buay Koak led Lyle-Pacelli with 23 points and Jake Truckenmiller added 14 as the Athletics ended their season with a 23-6 record.
Goodhue faces the Spring Grove Lions (28-1) for the Section 1A championship Thursday at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center Arena with the pre-game show at 5:45pm and the tip-off at 6pm on KWNG 106 and on-line at www.kwng.com. Spring Grove advanced with a 57-46 win over Hayfield.
Section 1AA Semi-Finals: Lake City 69 Cannon Falls 54-The top seeded Tigers (26-1) led all the way and pulled away in the second half to beat the Bombers (16-13).
Hunter Lorenson scored 17 of his game high 25 points in the second half for Lake City. Ryan Heise added 18 points and Jaden Shones 13 for Lake City. Aiden Johnson had 14 points, Dylan Banks 13 and Jadan Winchell 10 for Cannon Falls.
Lake City battles Plainview-Elgin-Millville (25-4) for the Section 1AA championship Thursday at the Rochester Mayo Civic center Arena with the pre-game show at 7;45pm and the tip-off at 8pm on KLCH Lake Hits 95 and on-line at www.lakehits95.com with Craig Kennedy calling the action.
PEM beat Caledonia 58-50 in the second semi-final Saturday night to secure their spot in the section final.
