Section 1A Semi-Finals at Mayo Civic Auditorium:
Goodhue 90 Blooming Prairie 77-The Wildcats hit the 90 point mark for the third straight time in the section playoffs in their win over the Awesome Blossoms.
Luke Roschen poured in 34 points to lead Goodhue with Alex Loos adding 27 and Michael Roschen 13.
Goodhue is 21-8 and face long-time rival Rushford-Peterson for the Section 1A title Thursday at 6pm at the Mayo Civic Center Arena on KWNG 106 and streamed at www.kwng.com with Race Roth.
Rushford-Peterson (24-4) topped previously unbeaten Southland 67-61 in the other AA semi-final.
Section 1AA Semi-Finals at Mayo Civic Auditorium:
Lake City 81 Cannon Falls 77-A comeback for the ages for the Tigers. Lake City trailed 54-36 in the second and were still down 62-47 with eight minutes left before staging the incredible rally for the win.
Gavyn Lorenson led Lake City with 25 points while Josh Wohlers added 21 and Luke Narum 19. Gavin Johnson led Cannon Falls with 28 points while Miles Rechtzigel had 17 and Jack Meyers 14.
Lake City is 19-9 and faces #1 seed Caledonia for the Section 1AA championship Thursday at 8pm at the Mayo Civic Center Arena on KLCH Lake Hits 95 and streamed at www.lakehits95.com.
Caledonia beat Zumbrota-Mazeppa 71-48 in the other semi-final Saturday.
Boys Swimming & Diving:
Junior Zach Mikkelson of Red Wing won the State Class A diving championship Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center with a total of 487.15. Kyler Kavanaugh of Alexandria was second with 445.0. Wingers junior Landon Nelson was 11th overall with a score of 252.70.
Red Wing's 200 yard freestyle realy team on Nick Babcock, Gavin Magill, Eli Flattum and Ethan Inhrke finished 15th overall.
Monday:
Spring sports practices get underway in Minnesota for baseball, softball and boys and girls track and field.
Practices start March 17th for boys and girls golf and March 24th for boys tennis.
