Section 1AA Quarterfinals at Rochester Mayo Civic Center Arena:
Red Wing 65 Rushford-Peterson 30-The Wingers rolled to a win over the Trojans Monday night in their first playoff game at the Arena since 2020.
The Wingers broke away midway through the first half to build a 31-15 halftime lead and cruised to win in the second half, using a 15-0 run to lead 50-21.
Finley Kamps poured in 22 points to lead the Wingers. Alexa Guetzlaff added 16 points with Hallie Johnson and Izzy Guetzlaff adding 12 points apiece. The top seeded Wingers are 24-4 and have won 13 straight games.
Caledonia topped Winona Cotter 70-51 in the other quarterfinal Monday night.
Red Wing faces Caledonia in the Section 1AA semi-finals at the Mayo Civic Auditorium Saturday at 11am on Bluff Country 1250 KCUE/KCUE 99FM and www.kcueradio.com with Jack Colwell calling the action.
Red Wing edged Caledonia 57-55 in Red Wing January 26th on a game winning basket by Alexa Guetzlaff with four seconds left in the contest.
