State Class AA Championship @ Williams Arena-Minnehaha Academy 81 Goodhue 69

Goodhue led 30-28 at the half but couldn't keep up with the Redhawks in the second half at The Barn Saturday Night.

Minnehaha Academy outscored Goodhue 53-39 in the second half, shot 17-26 from the field including 5-7 from three point range in the second half and made 14-19 free throws in the final 18 minutes. Goodhue struggled from three point range all night and made just 2-17 attempts from beyond the arc. The Wildcats were also outrebounded 40-29. Minnehaha also had a 21-6 edge in fast break points.

Kellen Troup led Minnehaha Academy with 24 points while Ayden Green had 21 (including 13-16 from the freee throw line in the second half alone), Carter Cupito 12 and Masen Thao added 10. Alex Loos led Goodhue with 25 points, Luke Roschen had 22 and Owen Roschen 12.

Minnehaha Academy has won five Class AA titles in the last 10 years and finishes the year at 26-5. Goodhue ends the year at 31-2. It was Goodhue's seventh state tournament appearance overall, third consecutive but their first in Class AA. The second place finish matched the 2015-16 Wildcats for the highest finish at state.

Luke Roschen, Owen Roschen and Alex Loos of Goodhue were named to the Class AA All Tournament team.
