GREG BERGE STEEPING DOWN AFTER TWO DECADES AS LAKE CITY BOYS BASKETBALL COACH

Greg Berge is stepping down as head coach of the Lake City Tigers Boys Basketball team after 20 years at the helm.

Berge, who is 54 years old, is also the principal at Lake City Lincoln High School.

Berge's coaching resume' shows the depth and consistency of Tigers Basketball.

*392-146 coaching record-an average just shy of 20 wins a season.

*11 HVL title including nine in a row at one point

*Three state tournament appearances in 2017, 2019 (3rd) and 2024 (2nd)

In recent years, Coach Berge has written two books about coaching, has more than 56,000 followers on X and 15,000 who subscribe to his newsletter with coaching tips with the theme of "Great Teams Better Leaders."

We wish Coach Berge the best in all of his future endeavors!


GOODHUE BOYS BASKETBALL NOTES...

The state bound Goodhue Wildcats Boys Basketball team is hosting a "Meet The Team" event from 5:30pm-6:30pm today in Gym 2 at the Goodhue School.

The Wildcats also found out yesterday they are the Section 1AA Academic Champions for this basketball season.

Goodhue takes a 29-1 record and #1 seed into the State Class AA quarterfinals against #8 seed Perham (18-12) next Tuesday at The Target Center at 6pm on KWNG 106.
