Goodhue County Commissioners Wednesday formally declared Goodhue County to be in a State of Emergency for conditions resulting from the flooding event starting on June 16th, 2024.
Â
From Zumbrota, Cannon Falls, and Red Wing, flooding has greatly impacted the citizens of Goodhue County.
Â
While waters have not completely subsided, the extent of damage to township roads, ditches, and culverts is likely to be substantial.
Â
Several county roads have already sustained considerable damage, and it will take some time before a full assessment can be made as to the repairs needed.
Â
Additional flooding could occur with the rising of the Mississippi River as well.
Â
Coming at the request of Goodhue County Emergency Management, this declaration aids in mobilizing necessary resources and support to address the widespread damage. Additionally, the declaration facilitates a coordinated response to the flooding crisis.
