Many law enforcement agencies in the country now use body cameras as way to better accountability and public trust, and the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office will be adding them soon.
The cameras should be ready for Adult Detention Center Staff by July 1st, but the rest of the Goodhue County Deputies are not expected to get them until late fall, which allows some time to get used to the technology.
The State is providing Public Safety Funding for about half of the cost of the body camera program.
