The Goodhue County Sheriff’S Office is sponsoring the inaugural Sherrif for a Day essay contest, the goal is to hear directly from our youth on the issues impacting our county.
The contest has been issued for any 4th, 5th, and 6th grader in Goodhue County to write a one-page essay (double-spaced) on one of the following prompts: - Ways to Bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community; or, - How to promote peace within the community.
The winner will receive many perks for the day.
They include: - Being escorted to the Sheriff’s Office from their school; - Sworn in as Sheriff by their County Commissioner; - Given guided tours around Law Enforcement buildings; - Given an escort back to school for a snack and K9 demonstration for their class; and, - Be in the Sheriff’s parade float sometime this summer.
All essays are due April 17th, 2023.
