Fall Color Changes

The changing of the leaves in southeast Minnesota is becoming much more apparent now that fall is well underway.
According to the Fall Color Finder on the Minnesota DNR site, as of Wednesday, the eastern half of Goodhue county is at 10-25% category, while the western half is 50-75% peak colors.
The northern one third of Wabasha County is only 10-25% peak while the southern two-thirds of the County is at 25-75%.
In Olmsted County, is 50-75% fill colors with the far western portion of the county is at 25-50%.
The eastern two thirds of Winona County is at 25-50% peak with the rest at 50-75%.
As of yesterday, nearly all of Rice County is at 50-75% peak and the northern portions of Dakota County is 10-25% with the remainder split between 25-75% peak.
The typical dates for peak fall colors in southeast Minnesota is early to mid October.
