Elgin City Council Public Hearing

Elgin’s City Council recently approved the scheduling of a public hearing for 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 15 in regard to a proposed ordinance which would amend the definition of a setback. 

A setback is the distance a structure/building is required to be from a property line.

The Plainview News reposrt discussion was also held regarding updating language in the city ordinance for non-payment of water services, late payments, a shut-off timeline, shut-off notices and payment plans.
