Dakota County Armed Individual

Dakota County Sheriff deputies responded to the area of Red Wing Boulevard and 200th Street in Ravenna Township  just outside of Hastings, on Wednesday night around 10 pm for a report of an individual who knocked on the door of a residence while holding a shotgun and demanding a can of gasoline.

The reporting party described the individual as a white male in his mid-20s with a patchy beard.

The male was said to be wearing a baseball cap, glasses, and a dark-colored plaid shirt.

Out of precaution, a community notification was sent to residents in the immediate area advising them to shelter in place.

A large law enforcement response was coordinated to search the area.

After an extensive search, no suspect or vehicle was located, and the area was cleared shortly before midnight.
