Colvill Family Center Early Childhood Screening

The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth. Minnesota requires that all children be screened before attending public kindergarten.

Colvill Family Center offered the first of its annual screenings last week, seeking to identify possible health or developmental concerns in infants and young children.

The Early Childhood Screening program includes vision and hearing, height and weight, immunization review, review of health care coverage, risk factors that may impact learning, large and small muscles, thinking, language and speaking skills as well as parent report of social emotional development, and a parent summary meeting.

To schedule a screening date/time for your child age 3 years or older, call 651-385-8000.

Early childhood screening is provided free of charge. Scheduled dates for the academic year are:

· 2022 -- Sept. 29, Oct. 13, Oct. 27, Nov. 17, Dec. 1, Dec. 15 and twice a month January-April and once in May, 2023.
