City Council Public Comment

The Red Wing City Council Monday night discussed the public comment format and rules during the General Business section of the meeting.

Council members agreed by consensus to keep the public comment format the same, taking comments on agenda items and non-agenda items near the start of the meeting.

They did not formally vote at this meeting. Instead, a formal vote on updated Rules of Order language will be on Tuesday, August 11.

Draft updates include clarifying the prohibition on personal attacks, reiterating the "up to 3 minutes" rule, and adding a section stating that moments of silence will not be permitted during the public comment segment.
