Each year, the Red Wing Royal Ambassador Organization Committee selects one or more persons to receive the Minneapolis Aquatennial Commodore’s Award. This year, they nominated Kendra Carlise.
This award is given to individuals who have shown great volunteerism to the community, River City Days or the Red Wing Royal Ambassador Organization.
Representatives of the Minneapolis Aquatennial Festival present the award at the Red Wing Royal Ambassador coronation on Sunday, August 2nd, at 5 pm at the Sheldon Theatre in Red Wing.
Go to https://www.sheldontheatre.org/ to buy tickets, which are $20.
Born and raised in Red Wing, Kendra now resides in Winona, where she is currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at Minnesota State College Southeast.
For the past four summers, Kendra has worked as a lifeguard at the Colvill Aquatic Center in Red Wing. She later began working with the Red Wing Police Department as a Reserve Officer.
This summer, she will continue her role as a Reserve Officer while also working for Boat Doctor, a boat detailing service.
In her free time, Kendra enjoys baking, reading, snowboarding, and staying active outdoors.
During her reign as the 2024 Red Wing Royal Ambassador, she had the honor of volunteering with the Red Wing Police Benevolent Association and assisting with community engagement events throughout the city.
