Cannon Falls Police Bike Trail Report

Officers of the Cannon Falls Police Department were dispatched to a report of a person yelling for help and possibly unresponsive along the Cannon Valley Bike Trail Sunday around 5:24 pm.

Then there were reports of a gunshot(s) in the same area and additional law enforcement assistance was requested.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol responded to assist with controlling the area and a search.

Additional assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter and Goodhue Sheriffs’ Office Drone and K-9 were requested to aid in the search being conducted.

A ground search was conducted supplemented by the helicopter and drone and the search teams thoroughly checked the area on foot and were unable to locate any victims.

Interviews of persons in the area were conducted prior to a secondary more focused search by officers on foot assisted by the K-9 team and drone. No victims were found.
