BNSF Railroad Fatality

The Pierce County Dispatch center received a call from BNSF Railway Tuesday at 5:05 pm regarding a deceased subject laying along the tracks southeast of Bay City.

Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased female with fatal injuries that appeared to have resulted from contact with a train.

There was no personal identification on the deceased female.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office along with BNSF Railway, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s office and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of the accident and identification of the body.

There are no concerns for public safety as a result of this incident.
