By law, the State of Minnesota has determined that Bay View Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in Red Wing is financially unsustainable and unfortunately, the decision has been made to close the Center.
Effective December 21, 2023, Bay View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been in a State of Minnesota receivership.
Throughout this process, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will be taking steps for the continuity of caregivers so that residents experience as little disruption to their lives as possible.
When this process begins, staff members and other personnel will meet with residents and their families to discuss alternative placement options. Placement options will be based on a resident’s needs and preferences.
MDH will assist with arrangements for residents and their families to visit other facilities to make informed decisions.
They are also working closely with staff members that will be displaced by this closure.
MDH is also planning on having an on-site Job Fair and Resource Center to provide employees opportunities to find employment.
