Bade Interim Chief Deputy Sheriff

Wabasha County Commissioners on June 16 approved the appointment of Jason Bade as Interim Chief Deputy Sheriff.

Bade succeeds Curt Struwe, who was appointed Sheriff after longtime Sheriff Rodney Bartsh retired on May 31 after 24 years on the job.

The Plainview News reports Struwe will serve until a new Sheriff is sworn in following the general election on Nov. 3.

Bade, of Plainview, plans to seek the Sheriff’s position.

He has served as a Deputy Sheriff for more than 24 years, and served with the Plainview Police Department for five years.

Struwe, who recommended Bade to fill the role of Chief Deputy Sheriff, thanked Bade for accepting the position.

Bade began work in his new position on June 14.
