The 2023 Jay McCleary Sustainability Award Recipient is David Anderson.
The Red Wing Sustainability Commission established the award in 2021 to help promote sustainability and environmental stewardship in the community.
This years award is being given to Anderson for his passion of promoting environmental policy and practice.
Anderson has committed himself to various sustainability endeavors in our community, including Live Healthy Red Wing, Live Well Goodhue County, Friends of the Bluffs, Red Wing Earth Week, and Resilient Red Wing.
The late Jay McCleary, the award's namesake and the first recipient of the award, worked for the City of Red Wing for over 34 years and after retirement served as a long-term volunteer for the Red Wing Sustainability Commission.
