The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced eight cities, including one in Goodhue County, will receive support from the latest round of Active Transportation Planning Assistance grants to help them increase the number of people walking and biking to destinations in their communities.
Â
Cannon Falls will receive assistance for a Community-wide active transportation plan.
Â
Funded by the Minnesota Legislature, the grants cover the estimated $100,000 cost of technical assistance from a consultant, such as developing an action plan and demonstration project.
Â
The cities will not receive money directly from MnDOT. Each community is responsible for implementation costs (e.g., for construction) of their action plan.
