The little church building at 602 West Avenue, the corner of West Avenue and West Sixth Street, in Red Wing is a well-known site to many.

It's tucked amid houses, churches, and government buildings.

When you drive by, the historic structure will still look the same, but recently, the Red Wing City Council approved rezoning the small spot from a residential designation to a civic one.

This allows the new owner to use the space for multiple purposes.

The Council discussed the issue and residents' feedback last week.
